The media office of former Nigerian President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has issued a public disclaimer disowning a trending Instagram profile operating under his name.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the targeted account utilizes the verified or active handle “@goodluck_ebelejonathan”. In an official statement released to the press, the former leader labeled the profile entirely fake.
He strongly warned that the page constitutes an explicit act of digital impersonation.

Mr. Ikechukwu Eze, the media adviser to the former president, clarified the statesman’s digital footprint on Friday.
He stated firmly that Jonathan does not operate or maintain any personal profile or account on the Instagram platform. Eze revealed that the fraudulent account has repeatedly altered its digital identity to avoid compliance checks.
He noted that the username has been modified 13 times and counting. This shifting tactic deliberately misleads unsuspecting members of the general public.

According to the media office, the page alternates between posing as an innocuous fan page and directly impersonating the former president.
The statement emphasized that the account is intentionally structured to scam or misinform users.
Eze expressed optimism that Meta, the parent company of Instagram, will execute necessary platform moderation and remove the page soon. The administration urged the public to disregard any messages, posts, or updates originating from the fraudulent account.
