He emphasized that his decision to leave a tenured federal appointment was driven by consistent calls from his constituents to represent them at the National Assembly.
The declaration sets the stage for a significant political showdown in Nasarawa North, as Agara will be competing against Governor Abdullahi Sule for the party’s nomination.

Governor Sule, who is currently serving out the final year of his second term, has been widely tipped to seek the senatorial seat following his exit from the Government House in 2027.
Despite the heavyweight competition, Agara maintained that the political stage is large enough for all qualified aspirants to prove their worth without unnecessary friction.
Nasarawa State APC Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello, praised Agara’s courage for relinquishing a stable federal position to return to grassroots politics.
Bello assured Agara and his supporters that the party would remain unbiased and transparent.
He pledged that the APC would provide a credible primary process, adhering strictly to the party’s rules to ensure every aspirant is given a fair chance to emerge as the candidate.
