The United States Department of Homeland Security has announced plans to deport 355 individuals from West African countries as part of an intensified immigration enforcement programme.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the action, unveiled under the agency’s West Africa Operations Watch (WOW) initiative, targets foreign nationals found to be residing in the United States without valid immigration status.

According to the figures released by U.S. authorities, Nigeria accounts for the highest number of affected individuals, with 110 citizens scheduled for removal. Liberia follows with 94 people, while Ghana has 30 citizens on the list.
Other countries affected include Senegal, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Mauritania, Cape Verde, Burkina Faso, Niger, Togo, Guinea, Mali, Benin and Guinea-Bissau.
