EKO HOT BLOG reports that the endorsement was announced after the party concluded its primary elections and unveiled candidates for National Assembly and State House of Assembly positions across federal and state constituencies in Osun State.
Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, Adewale Adebayo, said Makinde received affirmation across all 332 wards in the state.
He described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and reflective of the unity and shared vision among party members.
“In every generation, political movements survive not only by competition, but by cohesion, discipline and collective purpose. Today, APM is sending that message clearly and boldly,” Adebayo said.
According to him, the affirmation of candidates for various elective positions demonstrated the party’s confidence in credible leadership and its commitment to internal unity.
He said, “The affirmation of our candidates across all elective positions reflects the confidence of the party in credible leadership and our determination to move forward as one united political family.
“Sometimes, the strongest democracy is not in division, but in agreement built on trust, consultation and common vision.”
Announcing the presidential endorsement, Adebayo said Makinde emerged as the party’s sole presidential aspirant and had been affirmed as its candidate for the 2027 election.
“After the successful conduct of our primaries, we have today affirmed His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, the sole presidential aspirant of our great party, as the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement for the 2027 general election,” he said.
He added that the affirmation process was conducted peacefully across the state’s 332 wards without any form of disruption.
Adebayo further disclosed that the party had activated reconciliation mechanisms to engage aggrieved members and encourage them to remain committed to its goals and programmes.
He noted that the move formed part of the party’s preparations for the 2026 Osun governorship election and the 2027 general elections.

The APM also appealed to PDP members and other Nigerians to join its ranks, describing the party as a viable platform for strengthening opposition politics and advancing a new political direction ahead of future elections.
