EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Super Falcons controlled much of the first half but struggled to break down a resilient Senegalese side that remained organised defensively despite sustained pressure from the hosts.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade was influential from the opening stages and nearly created an early breakthrough from a first-minute set-piece. Joy Omewa and Gift Monday also posed constant threats as Nigeria searched for the opening goal.
The Falcons came closest in the 15th minute when Omewa rounded the Senegal goalkeeper but saw her effort strike the woodwork.
Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, Nigeria went into the break without finding the back of the net.
The breakthrough finally arrived three minutes after the restart. Shukurat Oladipo delivered a precise cross into the box and Omewa rose highest to head home the opening goal in the 48th minute.
The goal sparked the hosts into life as they quickly took full control of the encounter.
Seven minutes later, Omewa doubled Nigeria’s advantage after powering through the Senegal defence before calmly finishing past the goalkeeper to complete her brace.
Senegal struggled to cope with the Falcons’ attacking intensity as the home side continued to dictate proceedings.
Nigeria’s dominance was rewarded again in the 66th minute when Ajibade surged forward from midfield and found substitute Asisat Oshoala with a well-timed pass. The experienced striker made no mistake, calmly slotting home Nigeria’s third goal of the evening.
The Super Falcons comfortably managed the remainder of the game, maintaining a clean sheet and securing an impressive victory in front of their home supporters.
The result follows Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Senegal in the first leg of the two-match international friendly series played on June 5, 2026.

With back-to-back wins against Senegal, the Super Falcons will head into the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with growing confidence as they continue preparations for the continental tournament in Morocco.
