According to the military, troops responded swiftly on June 9 after receiving intelligence about terrorists advancing toward the North East Theatre Training School in Buni Yadi, Yobe State.
The troops engaged the terrorists in a firefight, killing two of them and recovering a motorcycle used during the operation.
In a separate operation, troops of the 25 Brigade Garrison, working with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), arrested two suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics suppliers, identified as Mallam Bako Ibrahim and Abu Aji, along the Sierra 4 axis in Damboa, Borno State.
Similarly, troops of the 162 Amphibious Battalion, in collaboration with the CJTF, apprehended another suspected logistics supplier, Musa Idi, along the Mandaragirau–Sabon Gari Road.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly involved in supplying materials and other forms of logistical support to terrorist groups operating within Damboa Local Government Area.

Items recovered from the suspects included 19 wristwatches, a large mat, a transistor radio, two cartons of agro-allied chemicals and several other materials believed to be intended for terrorist use.
The suspects, along with the recovered items, remain in military custody pending further investigation.
In another related operation, combined troops of Sector 2 and the CJTF arrested a 23-year-old suspect, Adams Shittima, in Damboa town at about 5:58 a.m. on June 9.
The suspect was reportedly intercepted while attempting to purchase farm implements and mosquito nets allegedly meant for terrorist elements.
During interrogation, Shittima reportedly confessed to providing logistical support and intelligence to insurgents operating in Damboa, exposing parts of a network believed to be aiding terrorist activities in the area.
The military high command commended the troops for their vigilance, professionalism and resilience, reaffirming its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist groups and their collaborators across the North-East region.
