Real Madrid have completed the signing of Spain international Marc Cucurella from Chelsea, with the left back signing a six year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 30, 2032.
The Spanish club confirmed the deal on Sunday, announcing that an agreement had been reached with Chelsea for the transfer of the 27 year old defender.
In a statement, Real Madrid said: “Real Madrid C. F. and Chelsea FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Marc Cucurella, who will be linked to our club for the next six seasons, until June 30, 2032.”

EKO HOT BLOG reports that although neither club disclosed the financial details of the transfer, reports indicate that Real Madrid will pay an initial €55 million, with an additional €5 million in performance related add ons.
Chelsea also confirmed Cucurella’s departure, bringing an end to his three year stay at Stamford Bridge.
“Marc Cucurella has completed a permanent transfer to Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid,” Chelsea said in a statement.
The Premier League club added: “Everyone at Chelsea FC would like to thank Marc for his efforts during his time at the club and for the role he played in our recent achievements.
“We wish him every success as he begins the next stage of his career.”
Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022 and made 163 appearances for the Blues. During his time at the club, he helped Chelsea win the UEFA Europa Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
The defender also became Spain’s first choice left back and played a key role in the country’s triumph at the UEFA European Championship in 2024.
His move to Real Madrid follows the appointment of José Mourinho as the club’s new manager, with reports suggesting the Portuguese coach played a major role in securing the transfer.
Cucurella is currently with the Spain national team in the United States ahead of their FIFA World Cup opener against Cabo Verde. He is expected to focus on the tournament before linking up with his new club ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Born in Catalonia, Cucurella came through Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy before featuring for Eibar, Getafe, Brighton and Chelsea.
