- A court revoked Sowore’s bail after he failed to appear for trial
- The prosecution said he was aware of the hearing date
- The case was adjourned until June 22
A Federal High Court in Abuja has withdrawn the bail earlier granted to African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, after he failed to appear for the continuation of his trial.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the decision was delivered on Tuesday by Mohammed Umar, who ruled that the defendant’s absence from court warranted the revocation of his bail.

During the proceedings, prosecuting counsel Kehinde Akinlolu informed the court that Sowore was aware of the hearing date but did not attend.

Akinlolu urged the court to cancel the bail, arguing that the defendant’s repeated actions had contributed to delays in the trial.
In his ruling, Justice Umar observed that although Sowore had sent a letter requesting a postponement of the case, no explanation was provided to justify the request.
Consequently, the court revoked the bail and fixed June 22 for the continuation of proceedings in the matter.
