Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on Tuesday received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following his victory in last Saturday’s governorship election.
The certificate was presented to the governor-elect at the INEC headquarters in Ado-Ekiti by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi, who represented the commission’s chairman.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking during the presentation, Omoseyindemi congratulated Oyebanji on his re-election and commended the people of Ekiti State for their peaceful conduct throughout the electoral process.
He said the successful conduct of the election reflected the commitment of INEC and other stakeholders to strengthening democratic governance in the state.
The REC also urged political leaders and stakeholders to continue upholding democratic principles and values.
The event was attended by party leaders, government officials, traditional rulers and supporters of the governor.
In his remarks, Oyebanji expressed gratitude to the people of Ekiti State for renewing his mandate, describing the outcome of the election as a victory for democracy, development and good governance.
He said his re-election marked a significant moment in the state’s political history, noting that he had become the first governor to secure consecutive electoral victories through the ballot.
The governor pledged not to take the confidence reposed in him by the electorate for granted.
Oyebanji also thanked President Bola Tinubu for his support and commitment to democratic governance, adding that the President’s leadership continued to inspire confidence across the country.
He further expressed appreciation to leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil servants, youths, women groups, security agencies and election officials for their roles in ensuring a peaceful election.
According to him, the renewed mandate represents a call to greater service and commitment to the welfare of the people.

Oyebanji pledged to build on the achievements of his first term and deepen the state’s Shared Prosperity Agenda through policies aimed at promoting inclusive growth and sustainable development.
He assured residents of increased investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and job creation in the years ahead.
