The Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of all 24 chairmanship seats in the just concluded local government elections across the state.
The commission also announced that the APC secured all 240 councillorship seats contested in the election, giving the ruling party complete control of local government administration in Gombe State.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the results were announced after the conclusion of the council polls, which featured candidates from six political parties.
According to GOSIEC, the parties that participated in the chairmanship election were the All Progressives Congress (APC), Youth Party (YP), National Rescue Movement (NRM), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), African Action Congress (AAC), and Democratic Liberation Alliance (DLA).
The parties fielded candidates across the 24 local government areas of the state. However, the APC emerged victorious in every chairmanship and councillorship contest.
With the outcome, APC candidates are expected to assume office across all 24 local government councils in the state.
As of the time of filing this report, the electoral commission had yet to release further details on voter turnout or the performance of the other participating political parties.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it will take an informed and lawful decision in line with the court’s directives after its legal department receives the Certified True Copy of the judgment delivered by the Federal High Court in Lokoja, which nullified the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a statement issued on Saturday by its Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser, Adedayo Oketola, INEC said it was aware of media reports concerning the June 26 judgment.

The commission stated that it could not comment on the specifics of the ruling until its legal department obtains and reviews the Certified True Copy of the court’s decision.
