The delegation, comprising APC chairmen from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, was led by the Chairman of the Lagos APC chapter and Chairman of the Forum, Cornelius Ojelabi.
The team was received at Marina Rail Station by LAMATA Managing Director, Abimbola Akinajo, alongside the agency’s Head of Corporate Communication, Kolawole Ojelabi, before embarking on a familiarisation tour of the Blue Line.
According to LAMATA, the visit was organised to showcase the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Blue Line and demonstrate how sustained investment in modern transport infrastructure has transformed public transportation in the state.
Speaking during the tour, Cornelius Ojelabi commended LAMATA for its professionalism, technical expertise and commitment to developing an integrated transport system for Lagos residents.
He said the Blue Line exemplifies the gains of continuity in governance and reflects the transport vision conceived by President Bola Tinubu during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State.
According to him, the project demonstrates that when governments plan for the future and successive administrations remain committed to implementing such plans, citizens become the ultimate beneficiaries.

He added that the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Blue Line is a legacy project that should serve as a model for other states across the country.
The APC Forum also praised President Tinubu for initiating the Lagos Strategic Transport Master Plan, describing it as a forward-looking blueprint that has been sustained and expanded over the years, resulting in transport infrastructure that serves millions of commuters.
Responding, Abimbola Akinajo thanked the APC Forum for the visit and for recognising the agency’s efforts in transforming public transportation in Lagos.
She reaffirmed LAMATA’s commitment to delivering a safe, efficient and sustainable integrated transport system that meets global standards.
According to Akinajo, the achievements recorded in Lagos’ transport sector are the result of deliberate planning, institutional continuity and the consistent support of successive Lagos State administrations in implementing the transport master plan.
After the briefing, the delegation boarded the Blue Line train from Marina to Mile 2, experiencing first-hand the operations of Nigeria’s first intra-city electric rail system.
LAMATA said the visit underscored the importance of long-term planning, policy consistency and sustained investment in infrastructure as key drivers of economic growth and improved urban mobility, adding that members of the APC Forum expressed confidence that the Lagos transport model offers valuable lessons for other states seeking to develop modern public transportation systems.
