With the theme, “AdVolution: The End of Advertising as We Know It and How to Win What Comes Next,” this year’s congress will focus on how artificial intelligence, digital innovation, changing consumer behaviour and the fast-growing creator economy are redefining the advertising profession.
Participants are expected to deliberate on key issues shaping the industry, including the transition from traditional interruption-based advertising to engagement-driven campaigns, the evolution of agencies into technology-enabled businesses, the rise of content creators as marketing influencers and the need to move beyond commission-based business models towards delivering measurable results for clients.
Speaking ahead of the event, AAAN President, Lanre Adisa, described this year’s theme as a reflection of the transformation currently taking place across the industry.

According to him, the congress provides a platform for professionals to exchange ideas, embrace innovation and develop strategies that will position Nigeria’s advertising industry for future growth.
“This year’s AGM comes at a defining moment for our industry. AdVolution captures the reality we are all facing, a period of deep change that is reshaping how we work, create and deliver value. This gathering is an opportunity for industry players to come together, exchange ideas and shape the next chapter of advertising in Nigeria,” Adisa said.
Activities will commence on July 23 with a members-only business session featuring the president’s stewardship address, committee reports and discussions on the association’s progress and future direction.
The main conference on July 24 will be formally declared open by Governor Sanwo-Olu. Expected dignitaries include the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; the Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Dr Lekan Fadolapo; senior government officials; and leading stakeholders in the marketing communications industry.
The conference will also feature keynote presentations by Dr Meksley Nwagboh, Chief Marketing Officer of Fidelity Bank, and Tomiwa Aladekomo, Chief Executive Officer of Big Cabal Media, who will share insights into emerging opportunities and trends shaping the future of advertising.
The event will conclude with the AAAN Gala and Awards Night, where outstanding individuals and organisations will be recognised for their contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria’s advertising industry.
AAAN reaffirmed its commitment to promoting professionalism, creativity, innovation and collaboration across Nigeria’s marketing communications ecosystem.
