Burglars attempted to break into Lamine Yamal’s home in Barcelona during the early hours of Wednesday, just hours after the Spain international helped his country secure a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to police and local media reports, the masked suspects were detected by the footballer’s private security team through surveillance cameras as they climbed the perimeter walls of the luxury property.
The house, previously owned by former Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué and pop star Shakira, was reportedly targeted while Yamal was away on international duty with Spain.
Security personnel immediately responded after spotting the intruders, forcing them to flee the scene before they could gain entry into the property. No arrests have been reported, while authorities have launched an investigation into the attempted burglary.
The incident occurred shortly after Spain’s 2-0 victory over France at AT&T Stadium, a result that booked La Roja’s place in Sunday’s FIFA World Cup final.
Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Pedro Porro doubled Spain’s advantage with a second half header, ending France’s hopes of becoming only the second European nation after Germany to reach three consecutive FIFA World Cup finals.

Spain, the reigning European champions, will face Argentina in Sunday’s World Cup final at East Rutherford, New Jersey, after the South American champions defeated England 2-1 in the second semi final.
