A man, identified as Jediel Sylvester, has been remanded in a correctional facility by an Upper Area Court in Ganye, Adamawa State, after pleading guilty to charges arising from an alleged family abuse case involving his daughter.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Sylvester, a resident of Ganye Local Government Area, appeared before Upper Area Court No. 1, presided over by Kabiru Musa.

The case followed a direct criminal complaint filed by the victim and her maternal uncle, Mohammed Audi, through their counsel, Abdulrahman Njidda, under Section 111 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Adamawa State, 2018.
According to Audi, the victim was taken to a medical facility after she complained of a health concern, where doctors confirmed she was about three months pregnant.
He told the court that the defendant allegedly attempted to persuade the victim to attribute the pregnancy to another person, but she declined.

The court also heard allegations that the victim had been subjected to repeated intimidation and physical abuse over a period of time.
The defendant is facing charges of incest, criminal intimidation and assault under Sections 367, 382 and 242 of the Penal Code Law of Adamawa State.
The court subsequently ordered that Sylvester be remanded in custody pending further proceedings.
