President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has authorized the sweeping appointment of 26 prominent Nigerians into the governing boards and executive leadership teams of 10 critical federal agencies, commissions, and parastatals.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the bold institutional shake-up, which covers core socio-economic sectors including rural energy infrastructure, fiscal management, agricultural mechanization, and national demographics, was formally announced on Monday through a public statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The most notable development in the extensive administrative realignment is the appointment of the former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Ayodele Fayose, as the substantive Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
Fayose is expected to deploy his vast political and administrative experience to accelerate the rollout of renewable energy grids and off-grid electricity access across Nigeria’s underserved rural settlements.
He will head the newly reconfigured REA governing board alongside newly appointed non-executive directors Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, working in direct tandem with the agency’s sitting Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and its established executive management team.
Simultaneously, the President restructured the executive leadership of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC) by naming Major General Junaid Bindawa as its new Chairman.
The new wage commission panel includes former federal lawmaker representing Lagos State, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, who steps in as the new Secretary of the Commission.
The presidency also appointed three regional commissioners to protect state interests, Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo), and Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna), alongside structural board members Dr. Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo), and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi).
The wave of appointments also saw a strategic horizontal deployment, with Tosin Johnson Adeyanju being reassigned from his previous duty post as the Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) to serve as the new substantive Secretary of the highly influential Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
In the same vein, President Tinubu appointed Dr. Abuh Mohammed as the new Director-General of the National Population Commission (NPC), charged with steering the country’s demographic mapping frameworks.
Other high-level management changes announced by the State House include the naming of Dr. Akinola Odeyemi as the new Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET), a vital entity in managing contractual transactions within the volatile national electricity market.
Furthermore, Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin assumes the dual role of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC), while the Kwara State-based National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) gets Engineer Julius Oloro, a former local council chairman, as its new Chief Executive Officer, filling the vacuum left behind following the demise of the former director, Dr. A.R. Kamal, early last year.
Rounding out the massive administrative changes, the President officially reconstituted the governing board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) under the chairmanship of Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu, backed by board members Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.
Additionally, Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was named Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, while Gisaor Vincent Iorja was confirmed as the Executive Director of Finance at the Federal Housing Authority (FHA).
State House communications confirmed that all 26 appointments take absolute and immediate effect across the designated ministries.
