EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, the association’s President, Yakubu Yazeed, said the government alone could not guarantee a clean environment, as he announced a strategic partnership with Mamuda Group, one of Nigeria’s leading manufacturers of household cleaning products, to promote hygiene awareness across the country.
Yazeed said the initiative, which also involves the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria, aims to educate Nigerians on proper sanitation practices and reach at least 10,000 households nationwide before the end of 2026.
He explained that the partnership would combine Mamuda Group’s range of cleaning products, including Popcola, Too Clean and Mama Joy, with the professional expertise of Yaz Laundry and Cleaning Services to improve hygiene standards and create economic opportunities in the cleaning industry.
“A clean environment is the foundation for a healthy and productive society. This partnership is not just about selling products but ensuring they get to people who need them while empowering professionals delivering cleaning services nationwide,” he said.
According to Yazeed, the collaboration will focus on four key initiatives: Spreading Happiness Through Cleaning, Academy Support Programme, Project Clean Abuja Campaign and the Cleaner Forum.
Under the programmes, the association will identify vulnerable households in Abuja for free professional cleaning services and provide them with Mamuda cleaning products to help maintain healthy homes.
Mamuda Group will also support students enrolled in the association’s Cleaning Academy with training materials and products, while working with community leaders to promote sanitation campaigns.
Yazeed added that community clean-up exercises would be organised every two months across Abuja to promote environmental hygiene. He said a reward system would also be introduced to recognise community leaders who maintain clean neighbourhoods.
He further announced that Mamuda Group would headline the Cleaner Forum scheduled for August 20 in Abuja, where storytelling and advocacy would be used to promote hygiene, dignity and environmental responsibility.

Speaking on behalf of Mamuda Group, Naseem Abdulkareem said the company was committed to supporting efforts aimed at building a cleaner and healthier Nigeria.
He said the company would distribute antibacterial detergents to vulnerable households as part of the initiative, noting that improving hygiene at the grassroots was essential to preventing disease outbreaks and creating safer communities.
