The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed five hospitality establishments in Ikorodu over persistent environmental infractions despite repeated warnings and enforcement notices.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the agency disclosed the development in a statement posted on its official X account on Tuesday, stating that the enforcement exercise was carried out in line with the Lagos State Government’s directive to strengthen compliance with environmental laws and protect public health.

According to LASEPA, the affected establishments failed to comply with regulatory directives despite being issued several abatement notices and given opportunities to address the identified environmental violations.
The facilities sealed are Docklands Hotels, Royal Tree Hotel and Suite, Rivera Hotel, Medallion Hotel, and Daval Spring Hotel.
The establishments are located in different parts of Ikorodu, including Ijede Road, Gberigbe Road, Aga and Owode-Ibeshe.
Speaking on the enforcement exercise, the General Manager of LASEPA, Babatunde Ajayi, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to protecting public health through strict enforcement of environmental regulations.
Ajayi said compliance with environmental laws is a shared responsibility involving businesses, residents and other stakeholders, urging operators of hospitality facilities to adopt responsible environmental practices.
He warned that the agency would continue to intensify monitoring and enforcement against individuals and organisations whose activities pose a threat to environmental sustainability.
The LASEPA boss reiterated that the agency would not hesitate to sanction facilities that fail to comply with Lagos State environmental regulations.
