The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has temporarily shut down Lobster Beach Club following complaints from neighbors regarding environmental violations.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the shut down of the club was in response to concerns about noise pollution, marijuana smoking, fireworks, and illegal tree felling, which prompted LASEPA investigation.

LASEPA’s General Manager, Tunde Ajayi, emphasized the agency’s commitment to protecting public health and ensuring environmental sustainability.
“The action was taken without victimisation and reflects the agency’s unwavering commitment to upholding environmental standards, while reinforcing that no individual or establishment is above the law,” Ajayi said.

As a requirement for the reopening of the beach club, LASEPA directed the facility to submit all necessary permits and approvals for lawful operation.
“Also, they are required to provide evidence of designated smoking areas within their premises in compliance with environmental and public health regulations.
“LASEPA remains committed to upholding compliance through fair and firm enforcement while promoting responsible environmental practices and ensuring that Lagos remains a safe and healthy place for all,” Ajayi said.
