Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the nomination of Dr. Olufunke Omolara Tayo-Makanjuola as the Acting State Auditor-General, pending confirmation by the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the appointment, conveyed through Circular No. CIR/HOS/’26/052 dated July 28, 2026, and issued by the Office of the Head of Service, took effect from July 28, 2026.

Before her nomination, Dr. Tayo-Makanjuola served as the Head of Directorate, Government Accounts, where she was recognised for her professionalism, integrity and commitment to public financial management.
Born on September 20, 1974, in Ikate-Elegushi, Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, she has an extensive academic background. She holds a Doctor of Business Administration in International Business from Lagos State University, an MBA in Human Resource Management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, and Higher National Diploma and National Diploma certificates in Accounting from the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.
She also earned an Advanced Diploma in Forensic Accounting and Criminal Intelligence from the University of Lagos.
Dr. Tayo-Makanjuola is a Fellow and member of several professional bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), the Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD), and the Certified Forensic Investigation Professionals (CFIP-USA).

She is also a recipient of the Distinguished Woman of Peace and Honour Award presented by the United Nations Positive Livelihood Award Centre (UN-POLAC) in recognition of her contributions to society.
Congratulating her on the nomination, the management and staff of the Office of the State Auditor-General expressed confidence in her ability to strengthen accountability, transparency and excellence in public sector auditing in Lagos State.
They also commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for entrusting her with the responsibility of leading the office and advancing the state’s commitment to good governance and prudent management of public resources.
