The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has described the forthcoming Nigeria-Saudi Diaspora Investment and Tourism Exhibition Summit as a strategic platform for strengthening economic relations between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia through increased investment and business collaboration.

Represented by the Secretary to the Commission, Dr. Sule Yakubu Bassi, the NiDCOM chairman said the exhibition would help address misconceptions surrounding investment opportunities in both countries while promoting stronger bilateral economic cooperation.

She noted that the summit, themed “The Misconceptions, Challenges, and Opportunities in Investing in Saudi Arabia and Nigeria Today,” would provide investors and business owners with a clearer understanding of the investment climate in both countries.

Dabiri-Erewa recalled that the inaugural edition of the exhibition, held in 2019, attracted more than 30 Saudi Arabian companies and helped strengthen economic engagement between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

She described this year’s edition as a timely initiative that would create new opportunities for businesses, investors and other stakeholders while deepening commercial relations between the two nations.

The NiDCOM boss also commended the organisers, Al Yaro International Limited, for their sustained efforts in promoting investment opportunities for entrepreneurs, companies and investors in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

Also speaking, the Head of Technology Transfer, Innovation and Investment at NiDCOM, Abdulrahman Terab, said the exhibition was designed to deepen participants’ understanding of investment opportunities in both countries.

According to him, although Nigeria and Saudi Arabia have maintained longstanding diplomatic, cultural and socio-economic ties, there is a need to strengthen economic cooperation through increased trade and investment.

Terab said participants would have the opportunity to explore investment prospects in key sectors, including real estate, agriculture, technology transfer, trade and tourism.

He encouraged Nigerians and other stakeholders to take advantage of the summit to establish strategic business partnerships and expand investment opportunities.

Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Muhammed Umar Yaro announced that the second edition of the Nigeria-Saudi Diaspora Investment and Tourism Exhibition Summit would hold on August 4 and 5, 2026, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

Yaro said the two-day event is aimed at unlocking investment opportunities while providing a platform for policymakers, investors and business leaders to discuss ways of strengthening trade and commercial relations between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

He disclosed that the summit is expected to feature more than 100 exhibitors, attract over 5,000 participants and showcase investment opportunities across 20 sectors, including energy, agriculture, manufacturing, real estate and tourism.

Yaro also expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and the NiDCOM chairman for their support towards the success of the initiative.

The exhibition is being organised by Al Yaro International Company in collaboration with the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Almanafie, the Association of Nigerians in Diaspora, Saudi Arabia (ANDiSA), and Suruh Alhijaz.
