President Bola Tinubu has called on public institutions, businesses, civil society organisations and faith-based groups to work closely with the government in building a more prosperous, united and peaceful Nigeria.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the President said government alone cannot meet the aspirations of Nigerians, stressing that sustainable development requires collective effort and shared responsibility from all sectors of society.

Tinubu made the call on Saturday during the inauguration of the new national headquarters of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria in Lagos. He was represented at the event by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi.
According to the President, achieving the Nigeria citizens desire will require the support of public institutions, the private sector, religious organisations, civil society groups and individuals, who must contribute their expertise, resources and influence to strengthen education, promote good governance and foster national unity.
He noted that stronger collaboration among stakeholders would accelerate socio-economic development and improve the welfare of Nigerians.
Tinubu commended the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society and the Okunnu family for their longstanding contributions to education, healthcare and humanitarian services.
“Nigeria remains eternally grateful for the family’s legacy of service and the society’s impactful contributions to education, healthcare and humanitarian interventions,” he said.
The President described the organisation as a dependable partner in national development, highlighting its role in promoting moral values and community service over the years.
Also speaking, Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, urged Nigerians to uphold the nation’s core values, including integrity, discipline, patriotism and mutual respect.
He said no country can achieve lasting development without a strong moral foundation, adding that these values must be preserved and passed on to future generations.
Hamzat also encouraged religious organisations to continue investing in education, noting that national development depends on an informed and enlightened population.
Earlier, the Grand Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheikh Sulaimon Abou-Nolla, praised the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society for its contributions to education, healthcare and social welfare across Lagos State.
He described the society’s network of schools and healthcare institutions as evidence of its commitment to community development and moral advancement.
In his remarks, the National President of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, Alhaji Mosediq Kazeem (SAN), reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting government efforts in promoting peace, unity, security and national development.
Kazeem said the society, which has served Nigeria for over a century, would continue to expand its impact through education, healthcare and humanitarian services.
He noted that the newly inaugurated headquarters, named after the late Alhaja Hassanat Abebi Okunnu, represents the society’s renewed commitment to national service and institutional growth.
