The Lagos State Government has commenced the installation of new water pumps at the Iju Headworks and Akute Intakes as part of efforts to boost water production and improve access to potable water across the state.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the government said the project is aimed at increasing operational efficiency and strengthening the capacity of the Lagos Water Corporation to provide a more reliable water supply to residents.

According to the state government, the upgraded pumps will improve water abstraction and distribution, helping to expand access to clean and safe water for households and businesses.
It noted that the initiative forms part of the ongoing investment in water infrastructure under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The government said the project is expected to enhance service delivery while supporting efforts to meet the growing water needs of Lagos residents through improved infrastructure and operational capacity.
