The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun West Senatorial District has inaugurated a 100-member Election Monitoring and Mobilisation Committee ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the committee was established to monitor the electoral process, prevent alleged rigging, and strengthen the party’s campaign for its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

The inauguration ceremony took place in Ile-Ogbo, Ayedire Local Government Area, and was led by the party’s Osun West senatorial candidate, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, alongside the district chairman, Akintola Omolaoye.
Speaking during the event, Ogunbiyi described the committee as a vital part of the party’s election strategy, saying its members would help ensure transparency and provide credible evidence where necessary.
He noted that election disputes in Nigeria often end up in court, making proper documentation essential.
According to him, the committee comprises educated representatives drawn from the 10 local government areas in Osun West, with each council contributing 10 members.
He explained that the team would monitor every stage of the election, from the distribution of sensitive materials at local government headquarters to activities at polling units and collation centres.
The committee will also establish a situation room for the senatorial district, promptly report irregularities, and document events throughout the electoral process.
“These people in Osun West are tasked with ensuring that all necessary evidence is provided. That is why we set up this monitoring committee,” Ogunbiyi said.
Also speaking, district chairman Akintola Omolaoye expressed confidence that the committee would contribute significantly to the party’s electoral success.
He claimed the APC’s mobilisation efforts in Osun West had already achieved about 80 per cent of its target ahead of the governorship election.
Omolaoye urged committee members to remain peaceful, resist intimidation, and ensure victory is secured through grassroots support and lawful participation rather than violence.
He stressed that the party was determined to leave nothing to chance in its preparations for the poll while encouraging members to uphold peace throughout the election.
