Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed security agencies to identify and arrest those responsible for vandalising the Festac-Alakija Bridge.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Sanwo-Olu condemned the incident, describing the vandalism of public infrastructure as criminal and unacceptable.

The governor said officials from the Office of Infrastructure had inspected the bridge and confirmed that its structural integrity remained intact.
He added that remedial work would begin immediately to protect the bridge’s columns and prevent further damage.
“Lagos will not tolerate any act of vandalism because it is barbaric and criminal,” Sanwo-Olu said.
He warned that anyone found responsible for the damage would be prosecuted according to the law.
“Anyone who is found to be culpable in this horrendous, shameful and condemnable incident will surely face the law,” he said.
The governor also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities around public infrastructure.
He said protecting roads, bridges and other government facilities should be a collective responsibility, stressing that the state would not allow acts of vandalism to undermine critical infrastructure.
The statement was signed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, on Friday.
