The Niger State Police has arrested a 20-year-old man, Tukur Bello, over an alleged attempt to kidnap two women during a midnight invasion of their residence in Mokwa Local Government Area.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Bello, who resides in Takuma Fulani Camp, allegedly entered the women’s residence at about midnight on July 25, 2026, while they were asleep.

According to the police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the suspect was armed with a cutlass and allegedly threatened to abduct the two women.
The women reportedly raised an alarm, prompting Bello to allegedly attack one of them in an attempt to silence her. The victim sustained deep cuts to her hands during the incident.
The alarm reportedly attracted members of the community and local vigilantes, who intervened and apprehended the suspect.
Police said Bello was arrested with the cutlass allegedly used during the attack.
The incident was initially reported at the Mokwa Divisional Police Headquarters before the case was transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna on July 30 for further investigation.
The suspect remains in police custody and is being interrogated as investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The police said Bello would be charged to court after the completion of the investigation.
Abiodun urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements and threats to the appropriate security agencies.
