The African Democratic Congress (ADC) 2027 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the party’s National Leader, David Mark, have arrived in Osun State ahead of the party’s final campaign rally for the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Atiku and Mark departed Abuja on Monday as the ADC intensified its campaign activities ahead of Saturday’s election.
The ADC is seeking to secure victory through its governorship candidate, Najeem Salam, who is among the major contenders in the election.
The other leading candidates include Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party and Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Salam previously served as Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015. He was re elected in 2017 and remained in the position until 2019.
The arrival of Atiku and Mark is expected to boost the ADC’s final campaign activities as the party seeks to rally supporters and strengthen its position ahead of the poll.
The August 15 governorship election is expected to be closely contested, with the major political parties intensifying their campaigns in the final days before voting.
The ADC final campaign rally is expected to provide the party’s leadership and candidate with an opportunity to make a final appeal to voters across the state.
