The University of Lagos, UNILAG, has extended the deadline for candidates seeking admission through the 2026/2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, to upload their O’Level results.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the university moved the deadline from Wednesday to Monday, August 24, 2026, giving candidates additional time to upload their WAEC, NECO, GCE and Cambridge O’Level results on both the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s Central Admission Processing System, JAMB CAPS, and the UNILAG admission portal.

The development was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the UNILAG Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council, Abosede Wickliffe.
Wickliffe said the extension was intended to give all prospective UTME candidates for the 2026/2027 admission exercise an opportunity to complete the required process.
“This is to inform all prospective UTME candidates for the 2026/2027 admission exercise that the deadline for uploading WAEC, NECO, GCE and Cambridge O’Level results on the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and the University of Lagos Portal has been extended to Monday, August 24, 2026,” she said.
The registrar urged candidates who had yet to upload their results to do so before the new deadline.
She also advised candidates to upload their O’Level results on both JAMB CAPS and the UNILAG portal, noting that the university portal would serve as a backup.

Candidates were further advised to confirm that their results had been successfully uploaded and correctly reflected on JAMB CAPS by refreshing the CAPS page after completing the process.
Wickliffe warned that candidates whose O’Level results were not properly reflected on JAMB CAPS by the deadline would not be considered for admission.
She also urged prospective students to regularly monitor the university’s official website and other recognised communication channels for further updates concerning the admission exercise.
The deadline extension followed reported technical difficulties with the university’s admission portal, which left some candidates unable to upload their results as the initial deadline approached.
The university’s latest decision is expected to provide affected candidates with additional time to complete the process and avoid being excluded from the 2026/2027 admission exercise.
