EKO HOT BLOG reports that sources familiar with the development told Punch that the ADC is positioning itself to benefit from the internal crisis plaguing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), aiming to attract discontented governors to its growing coalition.
A former senator from Katsina State, who is involved in the plan, revealed that five PDP governors have already expressed their readiness to join the ADC but are currently waiting for the ongoing tensions surrounding Nyesom Wike’s influence in the PDP to settle.
“Five PDP governors have given us their commitment. They plan to join us, but they are waiting to see the conclusion of Wike’s political drama in the PDP. By the time their next convention ends, we’ll meet again to review the situation,” the source said.
The insider further disclosed that the ADC’s coalition planning started 18 months ago, with some All Progressives Congress (APC) governors also offering quiet support to the movement.
“Some APC governors have been in talks with us for about a year now. They are part of this coalition effort. I won’t mention names, but they are with us,” he added.
Another source, an aide to a former minister and ex-governor, confirmed that the coalition leaders, including his principal, are currently engaging seven governors across the country.
“Why do you want us to name the governors? We can’t reveal every step we’re taking in public. What I can tell you is that we are in discussions with seven governors from both the southern and northern regions,” the source stated.

When contacted, the immediate past National Chairman of the ADC, Ralph Nwosu, declined to confirm the identities of the governors involved.
“That is a top-secret matter. You can’t get that from me. If you want to discuss other aspects of the coalition, I am available,” Nwosu said.
