Igbogbo Ambassadors U.S.A will hold the 3rd Biennial Igbogbo Day U.S.A on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Hyatt Place Sugarland, Houston, Texas.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the event, themed “Honoring Our Root and Building our Future,” will bring together sons, daughters, and friends of Igbogbo Kingdom living across the United States.

The Social Secretary and Chairman of the Igbogbo Day USA Planning Committee 2026, Tunde Oduntan, shared the aims and objectives of the event in a statement.
According to Oduntan, the biennial programme is designed to “celebrate our rich heritage while strengthening the bond between the diaspora and our ancestral home.”
He listed the objectives of the event to include preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Igbogbo Kingdom, fostering unity among indigenes and friends in the diaspora, and inspiring younger generations to stay connected to their roots.
“We want to mobilise human, intellectual, and financial resources to support sustainable development projects in Igbogbo Kingdom,” Oduntan said, pointing to the planned adoption of three schools in the community: Ansarudeen Islamiyya Primary School, United Primary School, Eleja, and Methodist Primary School.
Other objectives, he said, are to promote educational, economic, and social initiatives that improve the welfare of the people, and to honour individuals and institutions whose service has positively impacted Igbogbo Kingdom.
Oduntan added that the event will also strengthen partnerships between the diaspora, the local community, government, and other development stakeholders, while showcasing Igbogbo’s culture through music, dance, cuisine, and other displays.
“Through Igbogbo Day USA, we reaffirm our commitment to preserving our heritage, empowering our people, and building a brighter future for generations to come,” he said.
Also expected at the event is the Chairman of the Day, Omoba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, who is Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
The Special Guest of Honour is Hon. Jimi Benson, a member of the House of Representatives for Ikorodu Federal Constituency, while Dr Adree Osagie, Deputy Chief of CCMR at Houston ISD, will serve as guest speaker.
Leading the list of dignitaries as Royal Father of the Day is HRM Oba Abdul Semiu Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, who ascended the throne on July 25, 2016, as the 8th Adeboruwa.
Before becoming monarch, Oba Kasali practised as a lawyer and worked as a public servant. He was born on October 28, 1968, in Okobaba, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.
His appearance in Houston comes weeks after Igbogbo Kingdom marked his 10th coronation anniversary in Nigeria with a week of activities, including free Computer-Based Test training for students, the unveiling of an official anniversary Aso-Ebi, and a novelty football match at the newly built Igbogbo Stadium.
The anniversary climaxed with the launch of a book he authored, “The Town, the Throne, and Transformations,” which documents the history of Igbogbo Kingdom. President Bola Tinubu also sent a congratulatory message, commending the monarch’s decade of “dedicated, peaceful, and purposeful leadership.”
Over the past ten years, Oba Kasali’s reign has been credited with the completion of a new royal palace, the establishment of the Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali Royal Foundation, and visible progress in education, healthcare, youth engagement, and religious harmony in Igbogbo Kingdom.
Beyond his kingdom, Oba Kasali is known as a friend of Eko Club International, an organisation of Lagos indigenes and friends in the diaspora. He has hosted the group’s medical missions in Lagos on several occasions, opening his palace and community to free healthcare outreaches that have benefited residents of Igbogbo and its environs.
His continued support for Eko Club International’s health interventions has been cited as one of the ways his traditional stool has reached beyond ceremonial duties into direct community welfare, both at home and in partnership with Nigerians abroad.
