The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has dismissed rumors suggesting he is preparing to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
In an official statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed which was closely monitored by Eko Hot Blog, he described the reports linking him to the ADC as unfounded and misleading.

He reaffirmed his intention to seek re-election under the PDP banner and expressed confidence in securing a decisive victory.
“Our attention has been drawn to speculative reports indicating a possible defection to the ADC or collaboration with some ADC leaders in preparation for the 2026 governorship contest. These claims are completely false,” the statement said.

The governor emphasized the unity within the PDP in Osun State, highlighting the party’s endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election.
He added, “I have no alliance with anyone in the ADC and remain committed to the PDP. I will contest the 2026 governorship election on the PDP platform and am optimistic about winning by a substantial margin.”
Adeleke credited his sustained popularity among the electorate to his performance in office, stating,
“The people of Osun continue to back me because of the tangible progress and good governance we have delivered since I assumed office.
”This work is ongoing, and I am confident the electorate will re-elect me to maintain this positive momentum.”

The governor also called on members of the PDP to intensify efforts to strengthen party structures at all levels, urging them to prepare adequately for the upcoming elections to ensure continued success.
