EKO HOT BLOG reports that her arrival in Kaduna on Sunday was met with a warm reception from the state government, symbolising respect for her role in national service and continued ties with the region.
Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, led a delegation of senior government officials to receive Mrs. Buhari and her children at the Kaduna International Airport. Among those present was the Majority Leader of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, alongside other top officials.
The visit reflected the Kaduna State Government’s high regard for the Buhari family, following the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari. After the airport reception, Dr. Balarabe and her team escorted the former First Lady and her entourage to their Kaduna residence, where further courtesies were extended.
Though the visit was private, it drew significant attention as a symbolic homecoming. It marks a new chapter for Mrs. Buhari, who now settles in Kaduna with her family, quietly transitioning into life beyond the presidency.
The Kaduna State Government’s gesture is seen as an expression of appreciation for the former First Family’s national contributions. It also signals a continued relationship between the state and the Buhari family, especially considering Kaduna’s political and historical significance in northern Nigeria.

Mrs. Buhari’s return was devoid of any political speech or public statements, focusing instead on a smooth and respectful transition.
