The event, tagged “An Uncommon Evening With President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio,” took place at the APC Youth House and was organized by APC National Youth Leader Dayo Israel.

Akpabio told the youths, “The world was not built in a day. If you feel discouraged about Nigeria’s future, take action. As a young person, you can change Nigeria by doing the right thing.” He advised them to start with personal action like cleaning their environment and showing love.
He further reassured them, saying, “Don’t mind the situation you find today. The evil you see today, you shall see no more. The poverty around you today, you shall see it no more.
Just believe strongly and have faith in your country… Do not despair.” He emphasized that a positive mindset is key, as “what he thinks in his mind is what will happen to Nigeria.”

In a separate engagement, Akpabio charged the board and management of the newly formed South South Development Commission (SSDC) with executing impactful developmental projects. He gave the charge during a courtesy visit by the new Commission’s board to his office in Abuja on Thursday.
Akpabio urged the Commission to fully embrace its responsibilities to develop the South South region and contribute to the economic development of its six states, furthering the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Chairman of the SSDC board, Prince Chibudom Nwuche, thanked President Tinubu and the National Assembly for successfully passing the SSDC bill. He assured Akpabio they would keep faith with the core mandate, avoid past errors, and ensure the people feel the impact of governance.
