Professor Basirat Urges Continued Good Deeds, Repentance, and Unity Beyond Ramadan

As part of activities marking its 6th annual Ramadan lecture and iftar session, the Taibat Garbadeen Foodbank Foundation hosted an residents of Epe at Ogunmodede Club, Isale Agoro, Epe, Lagos State, on March 22, 2025.
Ekohotblog gathers that the chairman of the day, Prof. Basirat the Oladipupo-Folarin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), urged attendees to put up the positive habits they embraced during Ramadan.

She encouraged reflection, renewal, and repentance, stating that the end of Ramadan should not mean the end of righteousness.
“We should not go back to old habits,” she said. “Let the end of Ramadan be the beginning of a new life. Whatever good we have done during this period, let us continue with it.
Let us leave our past behind and embrace a life of righteousness and compassion.”
Echoing her message, Alhaji Ojikutu noted that Ramadan is not just a time-bound religious exercise but a period meant to ignite lasting personal change.
He advised everyone to “use the lessons of Ramadan to realign with God and live better lives beyond the fasting period.”
Alhaja Adéọlá Lawal also delivered a passionate message on love and unity. Reflecting on the overlap of Ramadan and Lent this year, she said, “God intentionally aligned both holy seasons to remind us that He values unity and love among His creation. Let us use this as a sign to love one another regardless of our religious differences.”

She added that sharing love and kindness should not be limited to one’s religious group, urging the community to be more inclusive in their acts of compassion.
The event concluded with prayers, the breaking of fast, and an atmosphere of gratitude, as attendees commended the Taibat Garbadeen Foodbank Foundation for its commitment to charity, unity, and community service.
