The Premier League has released the fixtures for the 2026/27 season, with defending champions Arsenal set to begin their title defence at home against newly promoted Coventry City.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the opening match of the new campaign will be played on Friday, August 21, at the Emirates Stadium, where Mikel Arteta’s side will launch their bid to retain the league title they captured last season, the club’s first Premier League triumph since 2004.

Coventry City, managed by Frank Lampard, return to the top flight for the first time in 25 years after earning promotion from the Championship.
Elsewhere, fellow newcomers Hull City will host Manchester United at the MKM Stadium on Saturday, August 22, following their promotion through the Championship play-offs.

Another promoted side, Ipswich Town, will begin their campaign at Portman Road with a home fixture against Sunderland.
Manchester City will usher in a new era after Pep Guardiola’s departure by hosting Bournemouth on Sunday, August 23. Bournemouth will also start the season under new manager Marco Rose.
Liverpool’s first Premier League game under new head coach Andoni Iraola will be away to Newcastle United. Iraola takes charge of the Reds after succeeding Arne Slot.
Chelsea, now managed by Xabi Alonso, will open their league campaign with a London derby against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Monday, August 24.
Tottenham Hotspur face a demanding run of fixtures toward the end of the season, including matches against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United before concluding the campaign away to Aston Villa on May 30, 2027.
The Premier League has also confirmed that clubs will receive at least a 60-hour rest period between matches during the Christmas and New Year schedule, while the traditional full Boxing Day programme will remain in place.

League organisers noted that several fixtures could be rescheduled during the season due to the participation of nine Premier League clubs in UEFA competitions.
The 2026/27 season will begin a week later than usual to allow players additional recovery time after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The final round of league matches is scheduled for May 30, 2027, with all fixtures kicking off simultaneously at 4 p.m.
