Aruna had comfortably dispatched Cameroon’s Ylane Batix in the semi-final to book his place in the final, while Assar overcame a tough challenge from surprise semi-finalist Salifou Abdel Kader with a gripping 4-3 win.
In the women’s singles final, Egypt’s Hana Goda dethroned reigning champion Dina Meshref with a stunning comeback. The young star rallied from two sets down to claim a 4-2 victory and secure the title.
