Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi were among prominent figures who gathered at the National Mosque Abuja on Sunday to observe funeral prayers for Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, mother of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the prayer session drew a number of high-profile attendees, including the 16th Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi; business magnate Aliko Dangote; former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Isa Pantami; and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

Also present were several state leaders such as Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, and Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago.

Other notable attendees included former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari and ex-national chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Images and video clips shared online captured the arrival of Obi and other dignitaries, who later sat with mourners before participating in the Islamic funeral rites.
Atiku also confirmed his presence via a post on his X account, noting that he joined relatives, friends, and associates of the El-Rufai family for the janazah prayer.

He offered prayers for the deceased, asking Allah to grant her Aljannah Firdaus and to comfort those she left behind.
