The aircraft, an Embraer 190, had earlier arrived from Akanu Ibiam International Airport and was scheduled for another trip when the situation happened.
According to the airline, the aircraft was parked between two other planes when multiple ground operations were taking place at the same time.
It explained that one aircraft had begun taxiing after boarding passengers, while another was being pushed back onto the taxiway. The combined movements created a strong jet blast in the area.
The force of the blast displaced nearby ground equipment, including a baggage trolley, which was pushed into the parked United Nigeria Airlines aircraft.

The impact caused damage to parts of the aircraft’s exterior, including the antenna and sections of the front fuselage near the nose landing gear.
Following the incident, the airline said it immediately withdrew the aircraft from service for detailed inspection, in line with its safety protocols.
It also reassured passengers of its commitment to maintaining high safety standards, while apologising for any inconvenience caused by the disruption.
The airline added that efforts are ongoing to minimise the impact on passengers and ensure smooth travel arrangements.
