Wike made the remarks on Thursday while inspecting ongoing road projects across Abuja, responding to recent comments by Atiku that the current administration has not improved the lives of Nigerians.
Reacting, the minister dismissed the claim, insisting that visible infrastructure development in the Federal Capital Territory contradicts such assertions. He urged Nigerians to assess the situation on ground and compare current projects with previous administrations.
“Atiku is a serial failure. He is a serial contestant and loser and I am sure that in 2031, he will still contest. Nigerians would be laughing at such a person making that kind of statement that nothing positive has been done,” Wike said.
The minister also questioned Atiku’s record in office, asking him to compare the state of Abuja during his tenure with ongoing developments in the city.
Wike maintained that governance would not be slowed by political activities, stressing that development projects would continue irrespective of election cycles. He added that contractors handling projects in the FCT remain focused on delivery and are not distracted by political disputes.
On infrastructure, Wike assured residents that key road projects linking satellite towns are progressing as planned and will be completed within schedule.
He disclosed that construction on the Airport to Kuje road is nearing completion, with part of the bridge expected to be opened for public use next week.

According to him, the entire project is expected to be completed before the end of May, as efforts intensify to improve connectivity and ease transportation within the territory.
