Job Summary
Our client seeks a compassionate and skilled Backend Developer Instructor to teach backend development skills to blind individuals. The ideal candidate should have expertise in backend technologies and the ability to tailor lessons for visually impaired learners. By using accessible technologies and inclusive teaching methods, you will empower students to excel in software development.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a structured curriculum covering backend development languages and frameworks such as Python, Node.js, Java, SQL, and API development.
- Utilize accessibility tools and screen-reader-compatible resources to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one and group instruction, adapting lessons to suit the learning styles of blind students.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere to help students gain confidence in their technical skills.
- Monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with accessibility experts to ensure course materials are fully inclusive.
- Stay updated on accessibility best practices and assistive technologies for visually impaired learners.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field with 2-6 years of experience.
- Proven experience as a backend developer, with expertise in HTML, CSS, Python, JavaScript, PHP.
- Familiarity with databases, API design, and server-side programming.
- Knowledge of accessibility tools and screen-reader-compatible coding environments (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver).
- Previous teaching or mentoring experience is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a passion for teaching.
Salary: N150,000 – N180,000 Monthly
