Hon. Dr. Enitan Dolapo Badru, Member representing Lagos Island Federal Constituency I in the House of Representatives and Chairman, House Committee on Industry, has expressed gratitude to the Almighty God, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and residents of his constituency following his emergence as the APC flagbearer in the party’s House of Representatives primary election.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the primary, held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, saw Badru confirmed as the party’s candidate for the forthcoming general election, according to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement of appreciation, Badru thanked President Tinubu, whom he described as his mentor, as well as the people of Lagos Island Federal Constituency I for their continued support.
He said their backing played a key role in his emergence as the party’s flagbearer.
“I express my sincere appreciation for their support during the Saturday, May 16, 2026 All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives Primary Election, in which I emerged as the flagbearer as confirmed by the party,” he said.
Badru also appreciated his co-contestants, commending them for demonstrating sportsmanship during the exercise.
He pledged to continue to provide qualitative representation and deliver on his electoral promises if elected.
“I will continue to offer qualitative representation and fulfil all the electoral promises I made. May the Almighty God bless and abide with you. Amen,” he added.
The lawmaker, who chairs the House Committee on Industry, reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening legislative engagement and delivering impactful constituency projects for the people of Lagos Island Federal Constituency I.
