Banned: Reps orders NCC to block X-Rated Websites

In a significant move on Tuesday, the Nigerian House of Representatives directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to order internet service providers in the country to immediately block access to all websites hosting X-Rated and obscene content.

Citing Nigeria as a “highly religious country” where major faiths oppose n∆dity and obscenity, Tafoki emphasized the need for decisive action.

Other countries across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East have enacted laws banning p©√n©g®phy, and Tafoki urged Nigeria to follow suit.

In addition to religious concerns, Tafoki highlighted warnings from psychologists and sociologists about the negative impact of p©√n©g®phy.

These experts suggest that the prevalence of p©√n©g®phic content may contribute to a rise in social problems such as adultery, prostitution, and addiction.
