Nigeria’s D’Tigress have confirmed their place in the final of the 2025 Women’s AfroBasket after a hard-fought 75-68 win against Senegal in the semi-finals.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the victory marks the ninth straight win for Nigeria over their West African rivals.

Under the guidance of coach Rena Wakama, the D’Tigress have now extended their unbeaten run in the tournament to 28 games, putting them on track to claim a fifth consecutive championship title.

Senegal started the game strongly, taking an early lead of 11-2, but Nigeria quickly found their rhythm and closed the first quarter leading 22-17. The D’Tigress continued to apply pressure in the second quarter and went into halftime ahead 43-37.
Senegal bounced back in the third quarter, outscoring Nigeria 17-7 to edge ahead 54-50 going into the final period. However, Nigeria’s resilience shone through in the last quarter as they outplayed Senegal to secure the 75-68 win.
