Schools from Lagos recorded an impressive medal tally and achieved high overall rankings across age groups, reflecting the continued development of structured school sports within the state.
Among the standout performances, Saint Saviour’s School emerged first overall in the U 11 category. Grange School secured second place in the U 13 category and third place in the U 15 division, demonstrating consistency across age levels.
Other participating institutions included Riverbank School, British International School, Lagos Preparatory and Secondary School, and Corona School. Their students competed with confidence and skill across multiple events, contributing to the state’s strong showing.

Director General of the Lagos Sports Commission, Mr Lekan Fatodu, said many of the athletes began their journey at the National Youth Games before earning selection to represent the state and subsequently the country.
He explained that their progress to the continental stage highlights the strength of Lagos’ youth sports development framework, adding that the athletes have demonstrated the ability to compete successfully at both regional and international levels.

He said the performances reinforce Lagos State’s reputation as a leading hub for nurturing young sporting talent capable of excelling on the global stage.
