“With profound sorrow, we announce that our dear Ajara Lasisi has passed away overnight after bravely battling a long illness,” the statement read.
Teemony highlighted that the late actress had received “an outpouring of love, prayers, and financial support from kind-hearted individuals around the world” throughout her illness.
“We are eternally grateful to everyone who offered their prayers, contributions, encouragement, and compassion during her fight,” he added.

He also appealed to the public to stop sending donations to the account previously set up for her treatment, noting that no further financial assistance is required.
“Our prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to her family, loved ones, and everyone mourning this heartbreaking loss,” the statement concluded.
A video message from her elder brother, Ridwan Lasisi, accompanied the announcement. He said, “Good morning. I am Ridwan Lasisi, Ajara’s brother. The doctors have confirmed this morning that Ajara has passed away.
We sincerely appreciate all the support from families, the president, and members of the film industry. We also ask that no more funds be sent, as her treatment fund is no longer needed. Thank you for your generosity.”

The news comes a week after Teemony, alongside Nollywood figures such as Ronke Oshodi Oke, called for urgent financial assistance for Ajara as her condition had worsened despite prior support.
Earlier, Teemony had written, “Ajara’s health has become critical despite the ongoing efforts. Much has already been spent on her treatment, thanks to generous contributions from celebrities and well-wishers, but her condition continues to decline. Any support, donation, or share can make a difference. Please help us save her life.”
Reports previously indicated that Ajara, who was pregnant, had been struggling with a liver-related illness and required oxygen support in the hospital as her condition deteriorated.
Many Nollywood stars, including Wumi Toriola, Mide Martins, Afeez Owo, and Ronke Oshodi Oke, had rallied for financial aid to support her care.
