EKO HOT BLOG reports that the club disclosed that although the goalkeeper signed a three year contract extension in 2024, he asked to be released in order to pursue the next phase of his career.
In its statement, the club thanked the Nigerian international for his commitment and professionalism throughout his time with the team.
“We would like to sincerely thank Stanley Nwabali for the years of service, commitment and professionalism he has shown during his time at Chippa United Football Club. His contribution to the club will always be appreciated,” the statement read.
Chippa United did not confirm whether the 29 year old has secured a move to another club or if he will leave as a free agent. Nwabali is yet to speak publicly about his exit or announce his next destination.
However, reports suggest that the goalkeeper has attracted interest from clubs within the South African Premier Soccer League, as well as potential suitors in Europe and Saudi Arabia.
Nwabali joined Chippa United from Katsina United in the Nigeria Premier Football League in 2022 and quickly established himself as a regular starter. He went on to make over 70 appearances for the club and was named team captain in 2024, reflecting his growing influence in the squad.

His performances at club level translated to international success, as he emerged as Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper following an impressive Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Côte d’Ivoire.
His departure closes a significant chapter at Chippa United and signals a potentially important move in his professional career.
