This announcement comes after the PDP held its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday, where several high-profile members—including Wike, Anyanwu, former National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, and Imo PDP Chairman Austin Nwachukwu—were expelled for alleged anti-party activities.

The motion for expulsion was initiated by former PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Bode George, and seconded by Bauchi State PDP Chairman, Samaila Buga.
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who also chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum, put the motion to a voice vote, which was overwhelmingly approved by delegates, highlighting the party’s determination to confront internal dissent.
