Onwusibe emphasized that his assessment of the Governor’s stance is based on the visible developmental strides being made both at the state and federal levels, noting that performance should be the ultimate yardstick for a second term.
Drawing from his extensive political experience serving under multiple previous administrations, Onwusibe claimed that Governor Otti has outperformed his predecessors, thereby earning the trust and political capital required to lead the state into the next election cycle.
He suggested that a collaborative relationship between the Abia State executive and the Presidency would be beneficial for the continued transformation of the state.
The lawmaker’s comments come amid a shifting political landscape in the Southeast, where traditional party lines are increasingly being blurred by performance-based alliances ahead of 2027.
The event also served as a platform for Chief Frank Chinasa, the Abia State Chief Liaison Officer in Abuja, to showcase a major solar-powered street lighting initiative.
Facilitated with the support of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), the “Operation Light Up the Niger Delta” programme has already seen the installation of 486 solar street lights across Uzuakoli and Umuimenyi Ward.

Chinasa noted that the project is designed to boost public security and extend business hours for local traders, directly aligning with Governor Otti’s broader vision for infrastructure and economic revitalization in Abia State.
Local leaders and residents in Bende expressed significant approval for the project, with many seeing it as a tangible result of effective governance and liaison.
Mayor Uwabunkeonye Bassey and other community stakeholders commended the initiative, urging residents to protect the facilities from vandalism.
