Former presidential candidate and activist, Omoyele Sowore joined the protest organized by the Take It Back Movement in solidarity with affected families. However, police operatives moved in shortly after his arrival, forcing the crowd to disperse.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, had earlier warned against public demonstrations in the area, citing concerns over possible breakdown of law and order.
Speaking at the scene before the disruption, Sowore alleged that the police commissioner had instructed officers to prevent him from addressing the protesters.
Sowore was recently released from Kuje Prison after meeting bail conditions set by a Magistrate Court in Abuja, following his arrest during the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest alongside Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, and others.

They were charged with unlawful assembly and public disturbance but later granted bail of ₦500,000 each, with conditions including a verified National Identification Number (NIN), three-year tax clearance, and the surrender of their international passports.
After meeting these requirements, Sowore and the other defendants were freed.
