EKO HOT BLOG reports that the report, originally published by SaharaReporters, alleged that Tinubu would depart for the US on Tuesday for “top-level diplomatic talks” amid tensions surrounding alleged mass killings of Christians in Nigeria and concerns over possible US sanctions or military intervention. The platform also claimed that President Trump had delegated his vice president to receive President Tinubu during the visit.
However, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, dismissed the story as false. In a post shared on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Ajayi described the report as fake news, insisting that President Tinubu has no scheduled visit to meet with the US Vice President.
Ajayi clarified that if President Tinubu were to visit the White House, such a trip would be directly with the US President and not with his deputy.

He wrote, “There is a Sahara Reporters story that President Tinubu is going to the US on Tuesday to see US Vice President J.D. Vance. That story is not true. I can see that the fake news by Sahara has become the basis for some uninformed commentaries since yesterday. If President Tinubu is going to the White House, he won’t be going to see a Vice President.”
The Presidency emphasized that Nigerians should disregard the report and rely on official channels for verified information about the president’s foreign engagements.
