It’s claimed optimism is high that they will complete the signing of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
It was previously reported a deal worth $75m (£62.1m) had been tabled after Ronaldo mutually terminated his Manchester United contract in the wake of his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
Since then terms have been agreed on a potential contract, including a weekly wage in excess of £1m. But the final decision now rests with Ronaldo himself.
If he does decide to sign on the dotted line, it’s expected he would be given a role in Saudi Arabia’s anticipated bid for the 2030 World Cup.
